Lady Gaga's Showstopping Golden Globes Dress Was Actually a Huge Nod to Another Iconic Actress - Cosmopolitan.com

Lady Gaga collectively made jaws drop last night when she stepped onto the red carpet wearing a larger-than-life periwinkle Valentino dress. It's an incredible gown on its own, but there might be a secret meaning behind it making it even better.

@TheVintageCostumeCollector on Instagram pointed out that the dress looked super familiar, like one of the ones Judy Garland wore in her version of "A Star Is Born."

And it's a spot on comparison, right? They're basically the same color and the silhouettes are freakishly similar. So cool!

Quick refresher: Lady Gaga and Bradley cooper's version of "A Star Is Born" is actually the fourth recreation of the movie. The very first one was made in 1937, then Judy's came in 1954. There was a Barbara Streisand version in 1976, and now the newest one.

So this could just be a weird coincidence, or Lady Gaga could have intentionally made sure to honor the history of the movie she starred in. Either way, v cool!
