Diddy's ex-girlfriend, model Kim Porter, will be buried in her Georgia hometown

Kim Porter, the former girlfriend and mother of three of Diddy's children, will be buried Saturday in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Her cause of death remains unknown.

The Charles E. Huff International Funeral Home in Columbus posted funeral arrangements for Kimberly Antwinette Porter, and Cindi Berger, her representative, confirmed the arrangements in an email to USA TODAY on Friday.

Porter died at her Los Angeles home on Nov. 15, at age 47, but the cause of death has not yet been established by the Los Angeles County coroner-medical examiner's office. An autopsy was performed the next day but the results were deferred for further testing, which could take weeks.

Meanwhile, her family released a statement Friday to The Associated Press honoring her life, saying "although we've lost our best friend, God has gained a special angel and we know she is watching over us."

"God broke the mold when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her. Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning. She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She was the epitome of kindness and grace. There wasn't a person she met who's soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better," the statement from the Porter, Goodwin and Combs families said.

"She will be forever remembered and missed by so many. As her family, we promise to honor her every day of our lives. We love you always."

The private funeral will be at a local church in Columbus, with interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park near her mother and grandmother. Porter was born in Columbus, graduating from Columbus High School in 1988, and later moved to Atlanta to pursue a modeling and acting career.

Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, and Porter were together off and on for 10 years; they were no longer a couple but they were still close, sharing three children: son Christian, 20, and twin daughters D'Lila Star and Jessie James, who turn 12 next month. They also raised 27-year-old Quincy Brown, Porter's son with singer and record producer Al B. Sure.

Combs has been devastated by her death, calling the days since a "nightmare."

"For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t," he wrote on Instagram on Sunday. "I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much."
