NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Kid Rock just spread Christmas cheer to hundreds of people in Nashville.The musician on Saturday paid off the layaways at the Walmart on Dickerson Road.
Store manager Tom Meyer said Kid Rock paid off layaways for 350 families, totaling more than $81,000.
Kid Rock tweeted about the gesture , giving credit to Actor Tyler Perry for the idea, who recently paid off $400,00 worth of layaways at a Walmart in Atlanta.
Just last weekend, Kid Rock was replaced as the grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas parade by Waffle House hero James Shaw, Jr., after he made comments about Joy Behar while live on Fox & Friends. Kid Rock will now be in the Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade on Dec. 15 (postponed from today due to inclement weather), according to the parade director.
